Bakambu brace gives Villarreal the advantage

Cedric Bakambu scored in both half to give Villarreal a 2-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen and puts them in control of their Europa League last-16 tie.

The Congo DR international, 24, scored on the 5th minutes when he sloth the ball between Leverkusen’s keeper Bernd Leno’s leg through a pass from former  Tottenham forward Roberto Soldado’s  to give the hosts the lead.

The home team would get a second goal early in the second half as Bakambu, who had not scored in 11 games before this contest, found the net again on the 56th minutes. The pacy forward picked up the ball and raced halfway through the pitch before placing the ball through Leno’s leg for the second time, to give the yellow submarines a two goal advantage going into  the second leg tie in Germany  in seven days time.
